During the lockdown and in the aftermath of the Amphan disaster, the whereabouts of migrant workers have become uncertain. They have no food in their stomachs, no bed at night after getting wet in the storm. At that time, Krishnanagar Center for Social Studies and Research has come and stood by their side. They helped some people with dry food in front of Tollygunge Bangur Hospital and met their needs with clothes and bedding in the rickshaw labor slum on Kalicharan Seth Lane in Dumdum.
Migrant workers’ representatives Jitendra Pashwan and Rambilas Paswan said, “We are always on the side of KCSSR in times of danger.” We remember their efforts with gratitude.

“We have tried our best to stand by these helpless people,” said Nirbhaya Maitra, secretary of KCSSR. I was able to help very little. I will feel blessed if I can stand by them with more strength in the future.
